STARBASES
Here's a few details about the starbases you see in STIR.
It goes into a bit more detail then the others at the moment, but i hope it doesn't give to much away.

STARBASE DELTA
Home to over one thousand Starfleet Cadets and 200 Instructors and crew, Starbase Delta (or simply The Delta) was set up in a high orbit around Nubian, one of the Moons of the Ba’ku planet, two years after the official end of the Dominion War.
It was constructed for the use of Starfleet Academy, in order to teach its students about the harshness of space first hand.
As such, all Cadets are treated as Starfleet Officers, and each are given a rank, depending on how many years someone has been in the Academy. 1st years are ensigns, 2nd years are Lieutenants (The Junior Grade is skipped), , third years are Lt. Commanders and so on. Members of the Zwei are ranked differently as to what position they hold, so the Captain is ranked and captain, First Officer as Commander and so on. |

DEEP SPACE TWELVE
The only Federation outpost in the Briar Patch, minus the colonies and Starbase Delta, Deep Spcae Twelve is an Immense Class Starbase, with a population of over thirty-six thousand starfleet, officers, and civilians. Constructed soon after official first contact with the Ba'ku, she serves as a hub for all activity within the Patch.
However, as is the the problem with most stations, Deep Space Twelve is also home to some of the Alpha Quadrants more seedy characters.
Being so out of the way and remote, the station is a haven for the quadants criminals, bouty hunters, and occasionally, a good meeting place for the odd Section 31 operative or two. (Notes. Immense Class Starbase design belongs to an artist under the name of Don't Shoot. I'm just mentioning in it so i don't get in trouble.) |
